| J24 For Sale
Wild Thing is a Westerly Marine J24, laid down at the yard in Poole 1979.
She is robust, fast, fun to sail and ready to go in the water.
The four berths have cushions and there is a cooker, but Wild Thing has not been cruised.
The suit of sails include two mains (one good condition), a top condition genoa, a jib and two spinnakers, one light and one medium.
No electronics or engine, but a very robust trailer. The Westerly ‘keel issue’ was professionally fixed before purchase and she was surveyed April 2011, with no serious advisories bar a wobbly stanchion. Two Lewmar 16 two-speed winches, Proctor mast and spinnaker pole.
Wild Thing has been raced over the past five years in the Tuesday evening series, every Round the Island (best placed 88th of 1600) and Cowes Week. She is IRC rated (0.888).
Wild Thing is at Shepards Wharf Cowes, so if you want to look take the 20 minute Red Jet from Southampton. Shepards is five minutes along the Hight St.
Wild Thing is family owned and great fun to race. She could benefit from a polish and fettling, but is ready for the season. Asking price is £3200 ono. Send an email for more images. |
