Helmi is a classic ketch built in Finland in 1948 of
1 ½” pitch pine on oak frames, wooden spars and good sails (main, mizzen, 2 genoas, spinnaker and blooper). Engine - Bukh 36ME - reconditioned 2010.

Locally well known and well loved, ‘Helmi’ was built in Finland in 1948 and sailed to the Isle of Wight in 1949 when she was acquired by a local dentist who kept her til 1994 when at the age of 80 he decided to move her on. Since buying her in 1994, we have enthusiastically cruised and raced ‘Helmi’. She has been a regular at regattas and gatherings (BCYC, Panerai British Classic Week regattas, Brest Festival, Cowes Week etc).

She is club raced out of Cowes on a weekly basis during the season and is therefor ‘up together’.
