The Quicksilver Activ range of cruising powerboats have a wide ranging appeal, from the 455 open runabout to the 905 Weekender, they seem to have a boat for everyone. The Quicksilver 595 cruiser cabin version seems to be able to do all those things by itself however, with a clever use of space both above and below deck she can be a great day boat or equally comfortable enough to sleep aboard. She has a porta potti, fresh water shower head (cold only), coolbox and a cockpit table, all of which is cleverly stowed until wanted. The same for the bimini which folds into the locker, keeping it pr... read more

Chaperon has bilge keels and draws just under a metre. Noted as the second best sailing bilge keeler after the Falcon, which is just a bigger version of the same design so naturally a bit quicker. This yacht has everything for comfortable cruising with a family and is easily sailed by any competent sailor single handed. It has been an absolute joy to own her for the past 11 years and I am only selling due to ill health that will prevent my using her in the future. She has been well maintained and improved over the years and is in good working order although not yet prepared for the season. She... read more

Peter Duck   £6,995
Laurent Giles Peter Duck built by Porter and Haylett in 1964. The Peter Duck is well known for its connection to Arthur Ransome, the very first one being designed for the writer by Laurent Giles just after the war. In 1961 the design was revived, altered a little and a total of 38 boats were built up until 1970 by Porter and Haylett Ltd of Wroxham. The Peter Duck was a very popular design and has been a proven and loved coastal cruising boat for many years. The easily handled ketch rig has a manageable sail area for hassle free cruising. The cockpit is large and comfortable and the i... read more

2000 Beneteau First 40.7   £65,000
French production boatbuilders Beneteau require no introduction from me, having been in business since 1884! The First 40.7 was initially designed by Bruce Farr in 1999 and very quickly gained popularity with nearly 700 produced in total. I would imagine they are probably the best known of the cruiser-racers, they still turn up in numbers at club regattas all over the country and as a family cruising boat they offer excellent accommodation as well as being fun to sail This 40.7 has had a good career under RORC, from channel races to Round Britain and Ireland and she's crossed the Atlantic t... read more
