2013 Quicksilver 595 Activ
The Quicksilver Activ range of cruising powerboats have a wide ranging appeal, from the 455 open runabout to the 905 Weekender, they seem to have a boat for everyone. The Quicksilver 595 cruiser cabin version seems to be able to do all those things by itself however, with a clever use of space both above and below deck she can be a great day boat or equally comfortable enough to sleep aboard. She has a porta potti, fresh water shower head (cold only), coolbox and a cockpit table, all of which is cleverly stowed until wanted. The same for the bimini which folds into the locker, keeping it pr... read more

2000 Beneteau First 40.7
French production boatbuilders Beneteau require no introduction from me, having been in business since 1884! The First 40.7 was initially designed by Bruce Farr in 1999 and very quickly gained popularity with nearly 700 produced in total. I would imagine they are probably the best known of the cruiser-racers, they still turn up in numbers at club regattas all over the country and as a family cruising boat they offer excellent accommodation as well as being fun to sail This 40.7 has had a good career under RORC, from channel races to Round Britain and Ireland and she's crossed the Atlantic t... read more

2019 Island RIBs 7.5m
Island RIBs, UK boatbuilders on the Isle of Wight since 2014, are formed of a team with over 25 years of RIB design and production experience. Each boat is built to order, specified to suit the customer be they commercial operators, yacht racing teams or in this case a family looking to enjoy time on the water This particular 7.5m, launched in 2019 was shown at Southampton Boat Show and has always been stored dry on a Tetradock modular floating pontoon. The 200hp Suzuki engine has been serviced annually, despite having lower hours than required and always rinsed correctly after each use ... read more

2013 Aquador 23 HT
Aquador Boats, part of the well-known Nimbus Group have an excellent strap line! 'Scandinavian Heritage redesigned with Legacy'. That says a lot to me about the Aquador 23 HT, stylish, modern looks with a feeling of quality throughout, a boat that you really are going to enjoy owning. Everything seems very well thought out; at deck level she's easy to move around and feels solid and safe. Although walking out and around the side deck is fine, access to the foredeck is even easier via the large opening hatch forward which then, when closed, gives a great seating area. The aft deck can be she... read more

1983 Fisher 37
In the late 1960's two naval architects (David Freeman and Gordon Wyatt) were searching the UK for a GRP motor sailer; a boat like that of the Scandinavian designs which did both sailing and motoring properly and were frustrated that nothing matched their (fairly exacting) standards. So, they designed their own, starting at 30' and from there the Fisher family of yachts began. The fantastic sea-keeping capabilities of these hulls meant that the desire to sail further required a bigger boat! The Fisher 37 was the same shape but the larger overall volume meant her cruising range increased sig... read more

1976 Derecktor Custom 72' Ketch
Built for C Thomas Clagett Jr, an American businessman in 1976, this 72' ketch has had a fascinating history! Built at Derecktor Shipyard (known as America's most accomplished boatbuilder), her early life was spent around Florida and the Bahamas where having a centreboard made cruising that area accessible for a large yacht. She came across the Atlantic and made her way to the Isle of Wight. Her last outing was in 2020 when she sailed across the channel. She is now afloat and does need to be moved from the marina on sale completion. There is a lot of boat here, she has huge liveaboard p... read more

1965 Wallace Clark Gentlemans Motor Yacht
This lovely Gentleman's Motor Yacht has a fine pedigree being one of the last boats to be built by Clarks at Clarence Yard on the Isle of Wight, a yard famous for building high specification World War II vessels. As practical as she is pretty this boat would be equally at home on the inland waterways as she is on the Solent. Her interior layout allows for very versatile accommodation for a boat of this size and so she would be comfortable enough to liveaboard whilst being easy enough to handle and lots of fun to take to sea. She was surveyed recently, any defects rectified and has since... read more

2001 Colgate 26
The Colgate 26 is a collaboration between an Olympic sailor and a naval architect. They called it 'The boat for all reasons', to sail fast, to have fun and, most importantly, to be safe whilst doing it. They are popular one-design day boats and are great for teaching the transition from dinghies to keelboats. On deck they are simple and practical, the rig is powerful and yet easily controlled and the large self-draining cockpit adds to the versatility. Safety really was paramount in this design and the open, low transom means that getting back aboard is much easier. Down below these boa... read more
